We know that a committed workforce is the key to growth. Achieving this means creating a supportive environment and supporting the success of our people.
Opportunities for all
Across the Arriva group it is our aim to make our training programmes as inclusive and interesting as possible. We run a range of schemes to help people improve their skills - from comprehensive CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) training for our bus drivers to bite-sized ‘lunch and learn’ sessions for ongoing development.
We use work-based and off-site training to help people continue on their career journey. Our graduate schemes and management programmes are helping to create a new generation of transport leaders, managers and supervisors that can contribute to the group’s future.
This commitment to encouraging individuals and promoting team development is what is powering our business performance. At many of our sites we have achieved external recognition for our training and development programmes, including Investors in People and EFQM accreditation.
We also use new and practical ways to reach all our staff. Our Technical Training Bus at Arriva Southern Counties, UK, provides a mobile classroom. It travels around our depots delivering training through the use of interchangeable engineering component panels on board.
