Spain

  • Operates bus services in Galicia, in Madrid and on the island of Mallorca
  • Significant position in the growing Madrid transport market

Traditionally the Spanish bus market has been diverse, with many operators, however a number of larger bus groups are now emerging.

In 2008, Arriva more than doubled the number of buses it operates in Spain with the acquisition of Empresa de Blas y Cia S.L. (DeBlas) in Madrid.

We have focused on building a strong presence in the greater Madrid area. We now have approximately 14 per cent of the market and are well placed to benefit from any future developments.
