Arriva wins top regional 'Best Website' award

Leading north east-based transport group Arriva has come top of the northern class with its multi-lingual corporate website.
Communicators in Business (CiB), the UK's leading professional body for internal and corporate communications, named Arriva’s site (www.arriva.co.uk) as ‘Best in Class’ at their Northern Region Awards ceremony.
Judges were impressed by the website’s excellent presentation, clear layout, and effective navigation. They commented that the site is an example of how websites can work, praising its high appeal and good balance of text and imagery.
Arriva adopted a multi-lingual approach to its corporate website to reflect the growth of the group, which now operates bus, train, commuter coach, waterbus and airport related transport services in twelve countries.
Julie Brown, senior projects manager – communications, for Arriva, said: “The very best corporate websites reflect their intended audiences and their needs, providing intuitive navigation and site structure, coupled with excellent functionality and design.
“These factors underpinned the development of the Arriva website. The result has been a website which truly reflects Arriva’s European presence, the value we see in our people and the importance we place in communicating and engaging with all of our stakeholders and potential partners.”
In addition the group’s annual report and accounts also picked up two Awards of Excellence in the categories of ‘Best Annual Report’ and ‘Best Design’.
