Arriva launch premium buses on Glasgow Flyer airport service

Holidaymakers, businesspeople and staff heading for Glasgow Airport by bus will see their service upgraded from today, following the launch by Arriva Scotland West of new bespoke vehicles on their Glasgow Flyer service 500.
Today the first of the 11 new buses was unveiled by Gordon Dewar, managing director of Glasgow Airport at the official launch of the £1.5 million fleet at the Holiday Inn, Glasgow Airport. The rest of the new vehicles will be brought into service during December.
Speaking at the launch Gordon Dewar, said: "The new Glasgow Flyer service 500 has exceeded all expectations and is proving hugely popular with passengers. Little wonder, given it operates 24 hours a day and connects passengers to the city in a matter of minutes. The new fleet of buses commissioned by Arriva will offer greater levels of comfort for passengers and a smooth, efficient journey between the airport and city centre. We welcome Arriva's substantial investment in this important public transport service."
The new Glasgow Flyer vehicles offer increased levels of comfort and care and feature all-leather interiors, ample luggage space, easy access low-floor entry and exit and free WiFi internet access.
On board passenger commentary includes details of bus stops and nearby features.
For customers’ further comfort and safety, all Glasgow Flyer vehicles have full interior and exterior CCTV and a dedicated team of drivers trained to SVQ level 2 in customer care.

- The Glasgow Flyer operates up to a 10 minute frequency, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Its direct route via the M8 motorway means the journey time to and from Glasgow Airport is only 15 – 20 minutes making the Glasgow Flyer the fastest bus service between Glasgow Airport and Glasgow City Centre
