Double celebration for Arriva at UK safety awards
19 June 2007
Arriva risk manager Roger Goode has been awarded the Road Risk Manager of the Year title at Brake's 'Fleet Safety Forum Awards for Excellence 2007'.
The prestigious awards recognise the achievements of those who have worked significantly to improve fleet safety.
Roger, who lives in Birstall and works for Arriva in Yorkshire, said: "I'm delighted to have won the award. I couldn't have achieved it without the support from depot management and indeed the performance of our drivers."
Arriva Yorkshire managing director Phil Stone added: "The award recognises a number of key initiatives that have contributed to road safety. We're very proud of Roger and are delighted that his efforts have been recognised."
In a double celebration, bus operator Arriva North East was 'highly commended' for its development and use of driver quality monitoring over the last four years. Driving standards have improved every year since the scheme was introduced.
