Arriva Yorkshire's Dewsbury bus depot is celebrating after being awarded Investors In People status (IIP). The award, which is designed to improve a company's performance through its employees, represents a huge achievement for everyone involved.

With 200 employees and 64 buses, staff at the Dewsbury depot have been able to make great improvements by enrolling for Investors In People accreditation and meeting key objectives. As a result Investors In People recognised “that there was great commitment from all departments to ensure that the service they provide is continually improved”.

David Squire, Dewsbury depot's general manager, said:

We recognised the Investors In People process as a route to continually improve services at the Dewsbury depot and ten months on we're delighted with the results.

Amongst many other initiatives the process has established a highly effective road safety group to monitor and improve safety standards. This is a great achievement for our Dewsbury team and they can be proud of their efforts.
