An eye-catching and thought provoking poster on the dangers of vandalism has been displayed on all Arriva Scotland West vehicles following a competition with local schools.

Schoolchildren in Renfrewshire were asked to come up with a design that would help raise awareness of the effects of vandalism.

The campaign, which targeted children in the 10 to12 age bracket, was also a chance to remind children about how to behave on board the company's buses, address a number of safety issues and tell them the disruption that vandalism has on services and on people's lives.

It was also an opportunity to draw their attention to the costs involved in replacing vandalised windows and seats. It's hoped that encouraging children to think carefully about their actions will help reduce the level of vandalism on Arriva Scotland West buses.

Rachel Campbell from Arkleston Primary composed the winning poster and won a mountain bike for her efforts! Rachel's school also received a DVD player.

Runner-up was Jennifer McLean from Kilbarchan Primary.
