Appointment of managing director for Arriva vehicle rental

Arriva plc, one of Europe's leading transport providers, has announced the appointment of Dom McKenna as managing director of Arriva Vehicle Rental.
He will join Arriva in November 2005 and will be responsible for guiding the business forward as it seeks growth and development opportunities in the market.
Mr McKenna previously held the position of operations director, Parcelforce Worldwide. In the last three years he has been a key member of the team returning the company to profitability through improved customer service, reduced costs and targeted organic growth. During this time, among other things, he also overhauled network logistics and improved the health and safety performance to record levels.
He has held other challenging positions in the Royal Mail and Post Office Group, including director & general manager, Europe, where he focused on turning businesses around and developing sales.
Mr McKenna will report to Arriva main board director David Martin, group managing director – operations and deputy chief executive.

Biographical note
Dom McKenna was born in 1966 and graduated from Bradford University in 1989. He began his career with The Post Office Group in 1989 and completed his MBA in 1996. During his career in the Post Office he undertook a number general management posts as well as sales, marketing and major change. In 1998 he established and lead the mergers and acquisitions department.
