Arriva wins contracts in Waterland, near Amsterdam

Arriva plc – Europe's leading transport organisation - is celebrating after winning a substantial new public transport contract in Waterland, a region just north of Amsterdam .
The new contract, which starts in December 2005 and lasts for six years, will involve an investment by Arriva of some £23 million and is expected to result in a turnover of some £120 million.
Bob Davies, Arriva plc's chief executive, welcomed the win:
Winning this contract strengthens our aim to be the largest transport provider in Europe.
Anne Hettinga, director of Arriva Netherlands said:
We are delighted to have won this contract which offers great growth opportunities in the urban area in the western part of the country.
With this latest contract win, Arriva now has operations in 8 of the 12 provinces in The Netherlands.
