Arriva midlands’ newest learning centre opened by

Local MP for Derby North, Bob Laxton, is visiting Arriva's Derby depot on Tuesday 29 March to officially open the bus company's latest Learning Centre offering employees access to new skills and qualifications.

Arriva has worked in partnership with the Trades Union Congress and Learning Skills Council, who jointly funded a new Learning Centre at Derby depot.

Arriva is setting up learning centres at bus businesses across the UK - providing computers so that employees, and their immediate families, are given the opportunity to access 'Learndirect' courses and the Arriva Learning and Development Gateway.

Currently there are four learning centres in Arriva depots in the Midlands .To date, the most popular courses have been in computing with an impressive 165 employees choosing an IT programme, with courses in brushing up and improving English and Maths skills coming a close second in popularity
