New Bangor to Aberystwyth service runs 5 times a day

3 October 2003

Arriva North West and Wales is celebrating the official launch of its brand new, five times a day TrawsCambria service this week.

The TrawsCambria X32 will bring improved service to regular customers and is also expected to help boost tourism.

The X32 now runs from Bangor to Aberystwyth five times a day, stopping at some of the major tourist attractions in the region, whilst also serving commuters, shoppers, students and senior citizens.

Replacing part of the once a day 701 service, the TrawsCambria X32 calls at a number of tourist destinations including Caernarfon, Porthmadog and Dolgellau. New low fares mean that the maximum adult single fare will be just £5, the same price as an Arriva Day Ticket. Senior citizens and customers with disabilities will be pleased to learn that Cerdyn Cymru passes are now also valid.

Betty Williams, MP for Conwy, is delighted with the new service. She commented:

I am pleased to welcome this excellent addition to the TrawsCambria route. In fact, I have already received favourable comments from some of my constituents who have travelled on the service. I hope that more people will now be able to use it to see some of the wonderful sites of North Wales.

Bob Hind, managing director of Arriva North West and Wales , said:

This is a vast improvement on the previous TrawsCambria service. Now we can provide a regular, cost effective option for all our customers in North Wales , as well as assisting tourism in the region.

For detailed timetables and further information on the X32 service, please contact the Arriva North West and Wales hotline on 0700 4 277482, or visit the website on www.arriva.co.uk/northwest.
