Local bus operator Arriva has embraced the latest 'big brother' technology on board its buses - helping the company maintain and improve its services in Merseyside.

Using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, Arriva can now pinpoint the exact arrival and departure times at every stop of each of its fleet of 738 buses in Merseyside to help the company analyse performance with more accuracy.

Arriva North West and Wales managing director Bob Hind said:

Whilst our punctuality and reliability records are extremely good, we're not complacent and we're always looking for ways to improve the level of service we provide.
The greater the certainty our customers have that their bus is going to arrive on time, the more likely that they will be more confident about using our buses. This really does demonstrate our commitment to providing punctual and reliable services.

Over the past three years, Arriva North West and Wales has invested more than £21 million in new, low floor easy access buses and equipment across its operating area.
