Opportunity at Arriva

Arriva, the transport services organisation, has pledged its commitment to valuing difference in the work place, by becoming a member of Race for Opportunity.
Race for Opportunity works with affiliated organisations to look at race issues relating to employment, business development, community involvement and encouraging the more specific targeting of marketing.
Arriva is also a member of 'Opportunity now', a business-led campaign that works with employers to realise the economic potential and business benefits that women at all levels contribute to the workforce.
Arriva has launched a programme which looks at diversity, and recognises the changes in the world in which it operates, and which impact on both its employees and customers.
Membership of Race for Opportunity and Opportunity now will assist Arriva to create an environment that maximises the potential of all employees and future employees without anyone being disadvantaged.
Both Race for Opportunity and Opportunity now are part of Business in the community (BitC), an organisation set up to help businesses contribute to the social and economic regeneration of local communities, by sharing their skills, expertise, influence and time.
Arriva is a member of BitC and is involved in a number of initiatives to support the local communities in which it operates across the UK . Activities include playing a key role in the Rural Action initiative to assist companies make a positive impact in rural communities, as well as the mentoring of youngsters to help them make the transition from school to the world of work.
