Whistle blower policy
The Board of Arriva plc recognises the importance of enabling employees to speak out if they feel a malpractice is taking place, or if they feel health and safety standards are being compromised, or if discrimination, victimisation or harassment of employees is taking place.
It is the responsibility of the Managing Director of each business to establish procedures by which employees may raise their concerns through a manager or confidentially by telephone or e-mail without fear of being dismissed or penalised for disclosing information which they honestly and reasonably believe to be true. Each matter should be recorded and investigated and a decision taken as to whether to take it further, with the employee kept fully informed of the outcome. These procedures should be in accordance with legislation applying in the area of operation. Such procedures must include the right to confidentially raise the issue with the Company Secretary of Arriva plc if not satisfactorily dealt with under local procedures which must be followed first.
