Environmental policy
The Board of Directors determines the overall environmental policy for Arriva paying due regard to the protection of the environment, the effective and efficient use of energy and raw materials, and the minimisation of waste.
By supporting the development of best practice and innovative solutions we aim to promote and provide sustainable public transport and reduce the environmental impact of our operations.
We aim to:
- Make efficient use of water and energy and minimise pollution.
- Meet legal compliance as a minimum and exceed it wherever practicable.
- Promote effective and efficient fuel consumption.
- Set targets and objectives to improve our environmental performance.
- Communicate our environmental policy and associated activities to our employees and stakeholders.
To achieve this we will:
- Investigate new technologies
- Provide employees with training and resources
- Develop frameworks and structures to improve our performance.
- Include environmental considerations when making purchasing decisions.
- Publish an annual environmental performance report.
The Board recognises the essential role employees play in the development of environmental awareness and efficiency.
