Community relations policy

Arriva's vision is to be recognised as the leading transport services organisation in Europe.

Our business will grow through acquisition, better service delivery, innovation and marketing. For our customers, our brand represents a commitment to delivering a better service, and for our employees our brand sets out a clear set of values within which we will manage Arriva's businesses.

It is important that Arriva's community relations activities reflect and embrace these brand values, and also support the company's culture of valuing difference across its operating areas in the UK and mainland Europe.

The company seeks to build sustainable community relationships that are relevant to the group's activities across its operating areas. The aim is to deliver best value for the communities it serves whilst reinforcing their relationship with the group.

As well as providing financial help, where practical, Arriva uses its areas of expertise and resources to support its community partners and to help develop sustainable relationships.

Community relations policy

Arriva's Community Relations policy focuses on supporting the communities we serve. We will actively support local and national charities and projects that set out to achieve this vision.

Examples of areas that are likely to meet this objective are listed below:

  • assisting people with disabilities to make a positive contribution to their communities
  • supporting the elderly
  • encouraging the young to be involved in the community, including education projects
  • improving the environment

However, Arriva will not support activities in the areas listed below:

  • activity in support of specific political party
  • activity in support of specific religious movements
  • advertising in charity brochures
  • research projects that are not directly associated with the needs of the business
