Czech Republic

  • Entry into the Czech bus market aligns with our strategy of targeting liberalising transport markets in mainland Europe.
  • It provides us with market entry into the Czech Republic transport sector and positions us well for future growth in this evolving market.

In the Czech Republic, responsibility for the procurement of public road transport has been devolved to regional authorities, with funding centrally controlled.

The former Czechoslovakian Railways split into two national networks in 1993. Responsibility for the procurement of local and regional rail services has been delegated to regional authorities.

Bus operations

2006
Arriva entered the Czech Republic bus market with the acquisition of Transcentrum Bus s.r.o, a leading company operating bus services to the north of Prague.

Based in Mlada Boleslav, we operate in the Stredocesky region with additional services in the regions of Liberecky and Kralovehradecky.

We provide commercial services, contracted services to local authorities, contracted private services and a travel agency. We also have offices in central Prague.

2007
In 2007 we strengthened our position in the Czech Republic bus and coach market with the acquisitions of Bosak Bus s.r.o and Osnado Spol s.r.o.

Bosak operates inter-urban and urban bus services in and around Prague, and Osnado provides urban, suburban and long-distance services in the north east of Prague.
